Patch Management can be accessed in one of two ways:
1. Customer Card
2. Asset View
For Single Organizations, the Patch Management icon is available on the left side bar.
Once on the Patch Management screen, assets appear under their respective Operating System. Each section is collapsible, and individual or multiple assets can be selected by checking one or multiple check boxes or by clicking Select All.
The Windows Operating Systems include the name (like Windows 10 and Windows 11), as well as their version, as defined in the table below. Microsoft Updates are categorized based on Operating System version, edition, architecture, and language. Each update is assigned a unique Knowledge Base (KB) number, which is used to identify and document the specific changes, fixes, or enhancements provided by the update.
Patch Management Task
Tasks are designed to initiate installation of the Microsoft updates and control when assets are rebooted to apply the updates. Updates are not installed automatically.
To create a task, do the following:
1. Select the asset(s) under a specific Windows OS.
2. Click Create Task located in the blue ribbon.
3. Under Updates to apply, choose an update.
4. Choose a Reboot time. (The default reboot time is 2 hours. Reboot time is the asset’s Local Time.)
5. Click Create Task.
Note: Deselect an asset if it should not be included in a task.
6. After the task is created, click Task Status in the blue ribbon to review all tasks.
Note: Windows Updates can be installed but aren’t applied until a reboot has occurred.
