Compatibility
The Nodeware VM Hyper-V package is compatible with all current versions of Hyper-V, including Hyper-V Core 2016, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2016, and Windows 10 Professional with the Hyper-V role enabled.
Download & Install
The Hyper-V package is located on the Downloads section of either the Management view (MSP) or Settings (direct user).
1. On the Import the Virtual Machine wizard, select Locate Folder.
2. Download the Hyper-V package from the Nodeware Dashboard. (.ZIP file)
3. Right click the downloaded file and select Extract All...
4. Open Hyper-V Manager.
5. Select the Hyper-V server to install the Nodeware VM on.
6. From the right-side menu, click Import Virtual Machine.
7. On the Import the Virtual Machine wizard, select Locate Folder, click Browse, and select the location you extracted the Nodeware VM folder to earlier.
8. Click Next. An entry for NodewareVM should appear. Select it and click Next.
9. On Choose Import Type, select Copy the virtual machine (create a new unique ID), especially if installing multiple Sensors on the network.
10. In Choose Destination, there is an option to specify where the VM's required files and folders are stored. The default is the downloaded location. Change this location if necessary.
11. Click Next to review the Summary. The configuration options will appear. Confirm and click Finish.
12. Select the installed VM from the list on the left and click Start on the lower right-side menu.
13. Click Connect. The splash screen of the Nodeware VM will appear. (See below) There is no need to log into the VM in the course of normal operation. Instead, manage the Sensor from the web console, accessed by visiting the IP address of the Sensor in a web browser.
